EXPERIMENT CONTROLS

Make room for discovery.

Changing population or seed starts a fresh experiment. Other changes restart only the incomplete batch. Export before replacing a run.

FIELD GUIDE

Evolution needs a test bench.

Run evolution evaluates every candidate across the selected conditions. Scores are recorded after the full generation and four separate validation trials finish. The best candidates are kept unchanged. Crossover and mutation generate new designs, and one random candidate is added to each specialist population.

Watch what is actually happening

The wall labels rehearsal, live evaluation, completed trial, and champion replay separately. Rehearsals and manual cuts do not change training scores. Click any miniature to inspect it. A displayed gantry places planned components; it is not an autonomous free-moving robot.

Sequential, not a campaign

All 24 gyms are accessible. Automatic progression needs a minimum generation count and 4/4 validation passes. Manually selecting another gym transfers learned genes but grants no qualification. There are no routes, settlements, cargo economy or campaign map.

The bridge builder

Compose a blueprint from trained specialists or a disclosed reference. Drag movable nodes; click two endpoints to add a beam, cable or road. Empty clicks create endpoints. Fixed supports stay on the banks. Test it, then send the blueprint into multigeneration evolution.

Physical model, honestly labelled

Fixed 1/60-second steps, gravity, compliant axial constraints, mass-weighted contacts, tension-only segmented cables, opening compression seams, moving-wheel reactions and member rupture. Beams and piers are 2D triangulated frames, not full beam finite elements. Proof gyms qualify on the service interval; later overload may deliberately destroy them. Damage gyms must also survive the cut.

Simulation units and tuned parameters, not calibrated civil-engineering analysis. No certification, 3D torsional response, fluid–structure coupling, continuum soil, realistic fatigue, arbitrary neural organism growth, or guarantee that evolution finds a solution. The component families are designed; their genes and assembly order evolve.
